Plant a Tree or Take in a Festival in Honor of Earth Day 2022

Gather the family and get out and enjoy nature and fresh air for Earth Day on April 22. Celebrate fun eco-friendly activities that benefit our beautiful planet and protect our natural surroundings. Your family will gain knowledge and learn about the advantages of keeping our earth healthy, lush and alive.

Check out these festivals, celebrations and volunteering opportunities all over San Diego County in honor of Earth Day 2022.

Earth Day Festival

Saturday, April 23, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Connect with nature and go green at the Alta Vista Botanical Gardens with fun activities for kids, live music, a plant sale and more. It’s sure to be a fun-filled day with informative activities for the whole family.

Creek to Bay Cleanup

Saturday, April 23, starting at 9 a.m.

A family-friendly event. One of the largest single-day environmental action events in San Diego County, join some 4,000 volunteers from nearly 75 sites around San Diego County. Registration is required and all ages are welcome!

NEW TREES FOR LAMAR 

Saturday, April 23, 1 – 4 p.m.

Help replenish the tree canopy at Lamar County Park by planting new trees into the ground. All supplies, including saplings, will be provided. Participants will be able to get their hands dirty while planting a tree they can visit and watch grow for years to come. All ages welcome.

EARTHFAIR 2022

Balboa Park – Sunday, April 24, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. 

This free event features more than 200 exhibitors in 11 exhibit areas, three international food courts, the children’s activity area, four entertainment stages, the Earth Day parade, the eARTh Gallery arts and crafts show and the cleaner car concourse. Great for all ages!
