Fall Fun Throughout Southern California

Fall happenings in and around San Diego, the Inland Empire and Orange County yield a cornucopia of family and adult events to set your sights upon including craft shows, fall fairs, haunted happenings and autumn activities. Our list of places to go and things to do will keep you busy right up until Halloween – the ultimate night of all of fall! Many of the below require tickets, so check their website for details.

Pumpkin Express. Not just pumpkins, the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum Association’s Annual Pumpkin Express Halloween Celebration offers rides on its vintage railcars through San Diego County. If you’re brave enough, tour two haunted trains and try to keep from jumping from the scary and creepy creatures. Boo!

Harvest Festival Original Arts & Craft Show. A 48-year history, the Harvest Festival is a family-owned operation that showcase talented artisans and crafters. You can browse the booths and shop for unique, handcrafted gifts. This year’s San Diego area show will be at the Del Mar Fairgrounds October 8-10 and in Ontario at the Ontario Convention Center December 3-5.

Oktoberfest in Orange County. At the Old World Village in Huntington Beach is an authentic, old school German-themed Oktoberfest celebration complete with imported beer, brats, a German deli, live music and more. Open for 21+ on Friday and Saturday nights, Sunday is a family friendly day. Open until October 31.

Autumn at the San Diego Zoo. The San Diego Zoo Safari Park Autumn Festival is celebrating the season with special activities, autumn-inspired food, live entertainment, a lantern ceremony and extra special activities. It’s running for three weekends in October.
