Around San Diego, there are ample spots from wide open parks to beach settings to cliffside hangouts to let your kite soar. So, gather your kites, check the wind forecast and head to one of these many picturesque locations. The sky is your limit!
Torrey Pines Gliderport. Renowned for its stunning coastal views, consistent ocean breezes and jump off point for hang gliders, Torrey Pines Gliderport is an excellent location for kite flying. The expansive cliffs provide a breathtaking backdrop, and the well-maintained grassy areas offer ample space to launch and soar.
Mission Bay Park. For a family-friendly kite-flying experience, head to Mission Bay Park. The sprawling grassy fields and sea breezes create an excellent environment for both beginners and experts.

Kit Carson Park. Located in inland Escondido, Kit Carson Park offers a change of scenery from the coastal and doesn’t disappoint in function. This expansive park features large grassy areas and a lake, providing a serene setting for kite enthusiasts seeking a more secluded experience.
