It’s that time of year when you hear howling at the moon, it may or may not be your dog! It’s the time when pumpkins are at their peak, and corn stalks double as a place to get lost. Thankfully San Diego loves its autumn fun and has a great variety of places to get your pumpkin fix. Here are some regional spots where a good time is always had by all in the fall!
In the mountain town of Ramona, you’ll find Mountain Valley Ranch Pumpkin Patch. This free fall favorite is complete with a petting zoo, a corn maze, antique farm equipment and pumpkin picking. You can even shoot corn out of a cannon!
Founded in 1992, the PB Pumpkin Patch boasts the largest selection of pumpkins in Pacific Beach that are up to 100 pounds! It offers free shaved ice, hot apple cider along with lots of items to purchase for fall home décor like straw bales and gourds.
At Oma’s Pumpkin Patch in Lakeside an entry ticket includes admission to the pumpkin patch, a petting zoo, games and toys. For an extra $5, a wagon ride takes riders on a behind-the-scene tour.
In Valley Center, Bates Nut Farm has been entertaining families and friends for more than 50 years. There you’ll find a petting corral, pony rides, a straw maze, tractor hayrides and more, and it’s dog friendly.
Fairly new to the pumpkin scene is the Goff Family Pumpkin Patch. Making its debut two years ago at Liberty Station, it’s a half-acre pop-up patch with more than 10,000 pumpkins to pick from! It features beer on tap for the adults and lots of photo ops. Admission is free.
