Schools Out!

No More Teachers, No More Books!

It probably goes with saying that this past year of school has likely been the most challenging one of your and your children’s school lives. From kinders to college seniors, I’m sure they’ll be happy when they turn in their last assignment and officially log off! If there was ever a year to celebrate the last day of school, this is it. So we’ve put together a little list of ways to say goodbye to the 2020-2021 school year for good.

Take a picture. Memorialize the day with a photo. And if the year ended with your kids attending a hybrid or online class, no 2020-21 school picture would be complete without a selfie with the Zoom class in the background. Whether or not your child thrived in this environment, it’s certainly one for the history books!

I scream for ice cream. Plan a special outing with one or more close friends from class. You can either go to a local ice cream shop or have a small ice cream gathering in your back yard. It’s a sweet end to a crazy year.

Decorate the car. Grab some auto friendly window paints and let the world know your kid survived the year! Your celebratory message will be seen loud and clear throughout your community as you run your errands. Your kids will love the attention!

Thank the teacher. This year wasn’t only challenging for the kids. The teachers were also scrambling day after day trying to stay up to date with new technology and changing protocols all while keeping your kids engaged and educated. If you can’t physically see your teacher, email her/him a thank you note or a digital gift card to a favorite store or restaurant.
