St. Patrick’s Day

Fun Tricks the Leprechaun Can Play on Your Family for St. Patrick’s Day

Every year, a little leprechaun can “visit” your home in the middle of the night and wreak fun havoc on your household. Make the most of St. Patrick’s Day by celebrating this little trickster’s mischievous outing to your home. Here are some creative ways to entertain your kids each March 17.

Green milk. Always a fan favorite, tap a few drops of green food coloring into the milk gallon. Imagine your kids’ surprise and perpetual delight when they see it poured over their breakfast cereal or in a glass. Another twist to the green milk prank is to add a little color to the toilet bowl too!

Footprints. Using a washable, waterproof substance, paint little footprints on the outside walkway at the front of the door or inside. You can have the footprints go up the wall or into the garden in a way only a leprechaun would wander.

Make a mess. Leprechauns are not known for being tidy. At the front door, tie all the shoes together or mix up all the matches. Remove the cushions from the sofa and move the kitchen chairs to the living room.

Write taunting notes. Using items like toothpicks, pencils or any straight materials, write out mocking messages like “You can’t catch me” in a place your kids are sure to see like at the front door or the landing at the bottom of the stairs.

Leave some treasure. These pranksters are also good about leaving fun things behind. A treasure can be as elaborate as a little store-bought gift and books or as simple as gold colored rocks.
