On July 28, grab your suit and towel and head straight to your coolest, splashiest waterpark to celebrate National Waterpark Day. LEGOLAND Water Park
Not just a place to enjoy Lego-themed rides and attractions, located inside Carlsbad’s LEGOLAND California Resort is the LEGOLAND Water Park. At this family-friendly theme park you’ll experience a 45-foot-tall tower with multiple slides and a shallow wading pool, two sandy beach wading areas, a splash zone for smaller kids, a lazy river and the ability to build a raft from Legos!
Waterfront Park
Located at 1600 Pacific Highway and located along the Embarcadero, Waterfront Park features an 830-foot interactive splash pad water fountain for hot summer days. Street parking is available.
Mission Bay Park
Mission Bay Park, the largest aquatic park in the country, is set upon 27 miles of shoreline and offers water adventures like sailing, SUP, kayaking, windsurfing, waterskiing and fishing. There are bike paths, walking trails, playgrounds, picnic spots and more. Rentals are available at local resorts and small aquatic centers located in the vicinity.
The Wave
In the city of Vista, families wanting to cool down can visit The Wave. This water wonderland boasts pools, waterslides, a simulated wave machine for body boarding and a lazy river. Parking is free.
Sesame Place San Diego
From Elmo’s Silly Sand Slides to Big Bird’s Beach, little kids will love spending time with their favorite Sesame Street characters all while cooling down and getting wet! Located within SeaWorld San Diego, Sesame Place has eleven water attractions including a 500,000-gallon wave pool – one of the largest in Southern California.
